Kochi Queues

Standing in long lines and doing nothing but waiting for your turn at restaurants and cafes is part of daily life in urban cities such as Tokyo. If you plan to visit a trendy eatery in a big city without a reservation, you need to be prepared to spend a long time sitting there irritated. You may need to wait longer than the time it takes to dine!

But in Kochi, such a farcical situation is unheard of. That’s not to say there are no good restaurants or places where lines form, but rather it’s because people in Kochi are not willing to wait. If such circumstances arose, they would choose to go to another place rather than stand in line. They would plan to come back at a less busy time.

As a result, dining out in Kochi is devoid of irritating lines, which makes the whole experience so much more satisfying. For me, this is one of the best aspects of living here in Kochi.
